Aqueous nanobubble dispersion of CO2 for geological carbon sequestration

The amount of gaseous species in water or brine can be greatly enhanced in the form of nanobubble (NB) dispersion. Aqueous NB dispersion can potentially control the mobility of gaseous species in enhanced oil recovery and enhance the solubility and mineralization mechanisms of carbon sequestration. Development of such NB technologies depends on a proper understanding of thermodynamic properties of aqueous NB dispersion. This presentation discusses the thermodynamic stability of aqueous NB dispersion and a novel application of a thermodynamic equilibrium model to analyze new data of high-pressure NB samples.
