Sho Hirose is a senior reservoir engineer with over 10 years of experience in reservoir modeling, management, and reserves assessment. He has a proven track record in both domestic and international projects. Since April 2024, he has been seconded to Japan CCS Co., Ltd. (JCCS) while concurrently serving at Japan Petroleum Exploration Co., Ltd. (JAPEX). He currently specializes in reservoir modeling and engineering for CCS initiatives, including the Tomakomai CCS Demonstration Project. His expertise also includes leading technical and reserves peer reviews for diverse conventional and unconventional assets, ensuring robust subsurface evaluation and strategic asset management.

He has Bachelor of Engineering and Master of Engineering from the University of Tokyo, and PhD in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin. He is the former chairperson of SPE Japan Section and currently serves as a regional member of the SPE Distinguished Lecturer Committee.
