Nanotechnology in Geothermal and Reservoir Applications
The presentation will focus on recent developments of the Geoenergy program related to Nanotechnology and Pore Level physics. We will present our recent results of nanofluids engineering with the aim of enhancing geothermal wellbore performance. We will demonstrate how for every 10 degrees temperature increase we can increase the efficiency of existing ORC at surface, without having to drill 1km deeper. In open loop systems we will demonstrate how nanoemulsions can be used for tracking fracture performance as related to fluid transport. Finally, we will show how we use pore level physics to predict (nano)fluid movement under different conditions.
